HOW TO STORE OUR PRODUCTS

In General

  • Keep our bread in a cool, dry area at room temperature, or well-wrapped in freezer, but not in fridge.
  • To maximize shelf life, keep in original packaging, linen bread bag, and/or bread box and store at room temperature.

How long does your bread last in the fridge?

Our baked goods should not be refrigerated, as bread becomes stale faster than at room temperature. Refrigeration may also cause the bread to mold faster as it is a more humid environment.

What about storing bread in a bread box?

A bread box is the perfect place for your freshly bread! Bread boxes create a low humidity environment that are excellent for storing our products. Just be careful not to overfill it, as this will alter the controlled environment.

Can you freeze your bread?

Yes, of course! To freeze:

Slice bread or leave loaf whole.
Wrap tightly with aluminum foil, plastic freezer wrap, or place in heavy-duty freezer bag and freeze.

We like to reuse plastic bags to double, or even triple, bag bread we put in the freezer.

How long do your bread last in the freezer?

Properly stored, they will maintain best quality for about 3 months. Beyond that, our products remain safe to consume, but the integrity of the product may be affected.

“I’ve noticed that sometimes your bread has a lot of frost on top after it’s been stored awhile in the freezer”

If you see frost, its a sign that the bread has not been properly wrapped.

Are bread closure tabs / twist ties sufficient?

Bread closure tabs alone are not enough. They are not designed to keep moisture out. In fact, they are used to allow condensation from the bag, common with freshly baked bread, to escape. If you need to freeze the bread:

Give the plastic bag an extra twist.
Use a twist tie to create a stronger seal.
Wrap the bread in a second (or third) plastic bag. The tighter the wrap, the better.
